Meet our new solid shampoos with a more generous lather!
With its wider disc shape, this shampoo is even easier to apply, while a new duo of surfactants makes it lather up even better! Abyssinian oil is an amazing oil for the hair: not only does it nourish the hair, but it also adds shine. As for the delicious praline scent, we think you’re going to love it!
Solid shampoo for normal hair with Abyssinian oil
A closer look at the 9 ingredients in our solid shampoo with Abyssinian oil:
6 ingredients that clean and care for the hair:
Abyssinian oil (Crambe abyssinica seed oil) cleanses the hair by lifting away grease and impurities, nourishes the hair, without leaving an oily residue. Rich in fatty acids, it also nourishes and adds shine.
Madder root powder (Rubia tinctorum root powder) is an Ayurvedic powder that gives hair shine and lustre. It also gives this shampoo its pretty colour!
Sunflower oil (helianthus annuus seed oil*) nourishes and protects the hair. It’s more suitable for normal hair than coconut oil, plus our sunflower oil comes from Europe!
A surfactant (sodium cocoyl isethionate) cleans the hair while being gentle on the scalp. This ingredient is plant-derived, but because the manufacturing process involves a chemical reaction, it cannot be certified organic.
A secondary surfactant (coco-glucoside) boosts the lather created by the sodium cocoyl isethionate.
White clay (kaolin) is used for its purifying and deep-cleansing properties.
3 ingredients that give the shampoo its sensorial qualities and make it last:
A delicious scent with praline notes, made in France.
Palmitic and stearic acids, which are fatty acids derived from olive oil, help to keep the shampoo solid and make it last.
Tocopherol, a plant-derived antioxidant (Vitamin E), prevents the botanical oils from going rancid. It’s contained in sunflower oil.
*ingredients from organic farming.
The INCI list
SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL*, STEARIC ACID**, PALMITIC ACID**, CRAMBE ABYSSINICA SEED OIL**, KAOLIN**, PARFUM**, COCO-GLUCOSIDE**, RUBIA TINCTORUM ROOT POWDER**, TOCOPHEROL**, AQUA**.
How to use it
Wet your hair, moisten the shampoo, then either apply it with your hands or rub it directly over your scalp. There’s no need to apply the shampoo to the ends of your hair. Massage your scalp to work up a lather, then rinse well. It’s as simple as that!
Precautions and storage
To ensure that your solid shampoo lasts for as long as possible, look after it in the same way as our other solid products. Keep it dry between uses by placing it on a soap holder or in a small storage jar.
Free of essential oils, this shampoo is perfectly safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use it on children under the age of five. PAO: 12 months. Even though its scent is irresistible, this shampoo mustn’t be eaten!
By using our solid shampoos, you’ll avoid using liquid shampoos in plastic bottles. What’s more, they last even longer than the liquid version, and you won’t waste a single drop!
We put a lot of thought and care into our formulas to ensure that they’re as natural as possible. We wanted to use a gentle, sulphate-free surfactant that was compatible with the manufacturing process for a solid cosmetic, as well as product usage. It had to have excellent cleansing properties and produce a good lather, and also be plant-derived and easily biodegradable. For us, the only surfactant that met all these criteria was SCI, which combines natural ingredients with pleasure of use and effectiveness. It means that our shampoos cannot be certified COSMOS Organic, but we felt this was the right decision.
At Lamazuna, all our products are designed to be zero waste, and we take into account every stage in their life cycle to ensure that they’re as environmentally friendly as possible. Our packaging is made from recyclable cardboard (because we can’t send our products to you naked, but you can recycle the boxes of course!).
I feel like my hair hasn’t been rinsed properly.
This can happen sometimes. When your hair is used to chemical products, it tends to “suck up” the chemicals. Because it’s not used to natural hair products, it takes a while to adjust and goes through a sort of “detox” process. This explains why it might seem like your hair is badly rinsed. When you switch to a natural shampoo, you have to get through this difficult detox period, but it’s worth it in the end! In the meantime, you could always rinse your hair with a vinegar and water solution, or use an apple cider vinegar rinse to solve the problem until it goes away naturally – which it will!
I’m worried that by rubbing the shampoo directly over my head, I’m getting my hair tangled.
No need to panic!
You don’t have to rub the shampoo directly over your hair. You could also rub it between your hands, like a soap, and then apply it!
We have a little tip too… Lean your head forward so you can really work the shampoo into the roots and spread it over your scalp. There’s no need to rub it through the lengths of your hair, as they’ll be washed when you rinse the shampoo off!
How long does the shampoo last?
This depends on factors such as whether your hair is long, thick, short, etc. However, it should last for as long as two bottles of liquid shampoo. 🙂
I use plant-based hair dyes and I wanted to know if your solid shampoos are compatible with them ? I saw that coconut oil was one of the ingredients, and I’d heard that coconut oil can strip hair colour when it’s used on dyed hair…
Coconut oil does not strip plant-based hair dye from your hair. Quite the opposite ! It’s actually recommended that you apply coconut oil to colour-treated hair to hydrate and revitalize it.
What’s more, our shampoos don’t contain sulphates, so they’re perfectly compatible with colour-treated hair. 🙂
Do your shampoos contain silicones ?
No, there are no silicones in our shampoos !
How much do your shampoos weigh ?
Our shampoos weigh approximately 55 grams.
What is the pH of your shampoos ?
Our shampoos have a pH between 5.0 and 6.0.
